"For What?" Are We Learning: The Universal Struggle Of Humanity And The Three Basic Needs

The Basic Instinct Behind Everything

First of all, reading, researching, or learning a new language does not require you to come from a rich family, be elite, or have traveled all over the world. You also don't need to know every word of a language. Moreover, it is meaningless to make a special effort to learn any information that you cannot use for your purpose or that you do not need at that moment. It is necessary to learn everything, but the answer to the question "for what?" is more important than everything else.

The purpose is to guarantee food, safe shelter, and the "love your neighbor as yourself" education for all humanity. Behind all civilizations, wars in history, power struggles, tribes, communities, religions, racial groups, football teams, schools... I mean, behind all human communities you can think of, there is a basic instinct to guarantee these three basic needs. A human being seeks this; he prepares in the background what he will eat during the day and when he will sleep in peace. He goes to work to maintain this, becomes someone's slave, or organizes and makes someone work to meet these basic needs for himself.

He develops the defense industry to secure them. He establishes political parties and does every job you can or cannot think of to guarantee these three basic needs for himself. In fact, if these three basic needs are at risk, living becomes so humiliating that leaders who commit suicide, join wars as soldiers, steal and hide their own country's money, kill their brother while he is still a child to seize power—you can also look at the Nizam-ı Alem practices in the Ottoman Empire regarding fratricide—sultans, and ordinary people emerge.

Making The Unchanging Reality Useful

Whether you want it or not, you are already working for these three basic needs throughout your life; no matter who you are, this reality does not change. So we must find a way to make this work useful for all of us. For an unchanging reality, there is no need to fall into the trap of changing thoughts and pursuits.

English is the common language of the internet in the world: In this case, it is important to understand what we read in English.

The economy in the world centers around the arms trade, prostitution, and gambling: In this case, it is important to learn to control these businesses and transform them correctly. Our eyes see the service sector and technological developments, but all these developments were first developed for the defense and arms industry. Airplanes are primarily built to bomb enemies and then they are also used to transport people. Its main purpose is to be able to kill enemies from afar. All airlines are designed to instantly turn into a military base in exceptional situations in the countries they are located in.

The strong crush the weak and usurp their rights in the world, and lions chase and eat gazelles: In this case, it is important to find an alternative that can take the place of brute force, a way to evolve it into a form that will also give a place to the weak.

An Alternative Way Of Life: Love Your Neighbor As Yourself

Humanity knows how to die and kill; it knows how to take the food and safe housing from the other's hand and live in luxury housing itself, sell weapons, and command armies. We do things we have known for thousands of years over and over again. It is time to discover an alternative way of life for the next generation. We will need to find an elegant way to guarantee the three basic needs to each other. We will need to become equipped for this.

The need for a religion above religions, a language above languages will put pressure on us like never before. Instead of dying by separating and dividing; we will learn to live by uniting and integrating. We can only do this by focusing on common needs. An Iranian needs food, just like an American. Sultans need a safe house, just like ordinary servants. We can guarantee these needs to each other only with a universal belief system based on the principle of "love your neighbor as yourself".

The most important life experience we will teach our children is the application of the "love your neighbor as yourself" law. If we want our children to survive, if we do not want them to go through wars, betrayals, famines, and deceptions like we have done for thousands of years, there is only one purpose we will dedicate our limited lives to: to hold on to the law of God or nature that will transform a human being from a monster into a sacred being; that is, "love your neighbor as yourself". Feed your neighbor just as you want to feed your own stomach; just as you want to sleep in a clean and soft bed, in a peaceful house, give your neighbor the same right to safe housing. The only law that first we adults and then our children will internalize is the "love your neighbor as yourself" law.

The Concept Of State: What Is Its True Function Beyond Accusations?

I frequently talk about how the definition of the "state" needs to be remade in different ways. First of all, being a state, having a state, and a way of life bound by rules is not a bad thing. Practices at the initiative of periodical administrations such as corruption, wars, and nepotism are temporary. The state occurs naturally when a group of people decides to "live together" on an education system based on "loving our neighbors as ourselves" to maintain our food and safe housing within the framework of certain rules. Then, institutions and organizations organize and work in cooperation to make these three basic needs sustainable.

When we define the state this way, it is not difficult to work for it, pay taxes to it, and spend a large part of our precious time for it. When the main purpose of the establishment of the state is corrupted, the public never allows the concept of the state to be harmed. Even the most ignorant person easily distinguishes between the concept of the state and corrupted structures.

A human being knows innately what is right and wrong. There is not a single person who will deny that he needs food and appropriate shelter to live. He also understands that this is only possible with an organization based on the foundation of "love your neighbor as yourself" among people. For these reasons, he develops relationships, creates networks, and aspires to administrations to have better in this area, to surpass others.

Only one concept emerges victorious from wars: The State! The state is the only power that will give the guarantee of food and safe shelter to those left behind, inspect it, and participate if necessary. Even if it is defeated thousands of times, it stands up once again, changes shape, adapts to the era; the state is the dough of the sacred law of "love your neighbor as yourself" that takes shape according to the container on earth. That is why a person always hides behind it to do a job where he will be exposed to accusations. While he adapts the laws of the state according to himself, perches on the areas guaranteed by the state, and abuses the trust in the state to the end, he now begins to think of himself as the state. This is experienced more or less in all geographies without exception.

Education And The State: Unity Instead Of Competition

What do you teach your children? In a large part of the existing education systems in the world: behaviors such as get a better grade than your friend, pass the exams, solve math problems the fastest, go to special courses, compete… are taught.

Throughout history, because they were not admitted to the academy under dominant administrations, Jews had to establish their own schools, which they called "yeshiva," and learned to help each other. In addition to being excluded, let us say that these schools were established from the very beginning to protect a theological discipline and their beliefs, but this subject cannot be separated from the three basic needs anyway. Religion already consists of arguments, myths, oral and traditional rules that can be used to protect the three basic needs by saying that the eye of God is there where the hand of the state does not reach and its eye does not see. Its purpose is also to keep the people who apply these needs so that they guarantee them to each other according to the same rules together. Societies that learn to help each other show progress despite all obstacles. It happened like that for the Jews too. Even when they were not a state tied to a geography, the strong bond between them turned into a network in the business field; they taught each other foreign languages, they shopped from each other, they maintained both their own culture and the culture they were in to survive within different cultures. This is just an example. How would it be if it were possible to apply the same spirit of solidarity and unity all over the world?

My guess is that the new generation will feel exactly the pressure that the Jews experienced in their time on themselves. Just as a Jew was not accepted to university in Germany, today's successful young people who have read books and know languages are not admitted to universities and positions requiring merit. All over the world, who you know has become more important than merit. And who you know is completely related to how much money you have; unfortunately, money is also connected to how badly selfish desires such as the arms trade, prostitution, drugs, and gambling are abused.

The ideal state practically maintains the "love your neighbor as yourself" education for all children under its administration. Turks are almost experts in establishing the ideal state. These words of Bilge Khagan in the Orkhon Inscriptions are very striking:

"I did not sit during the day, I did not sleep at night... I fed the hungry nation, I clothed the naked nation. I made the poor nation rich, I made the few nation many."

We will continue this topic later.
