Why is it Difficult for Multi-Faceted People to Focus?

Language Learning Journey And Memory Palace Experience

I have been dealing with this for two days: I took the first step to finally bring my memory palace project to life.

I decided to memorize the dictionary where frequently used words for American English are gathered together.

This is a huge goal.

I don't know if I will leave it halfway.

I think it is worth memorizing this dictionary for my purpose.

If you know me from Instagram or my YouTube channel, you already know my purpose: guaranteeing the three basic needs for everyone: Food, shelter, and of course, the law of "love your neighbor as yourself," which is education regarding the meaning of life.

I needed to overcome the language barrier to explain this to the whole world.

Since the written language on the internet is predominantly English, I did not think for long about which language I should learn.

I said let me learn English.

I was not content with this; I went and got a TESOL teaching certificate.

But a miracle did not happen just because I got the certificate.

I did not start speaking like a nightingale immediately just because I memorized grammar rules.

The End Of Private Life And Social Control

Since there was no one around me with whom I could speak English, I had to talk to ChatGPT and Gemini and share my entire private life with artificial intelligence.

I have been aware for a very long time that there is no such thing as private life.

I am also aware that the memory palace memorization method works, but that starting to use this method can take a long time.

There will be no such thing as private life even more in the future.

Is this a bad thing?

No!

I thought about this subject a lot: This is my house, I do whatever my heart desires!

Actually, this is not true.

If we do whatever we want anyway, that place would no longer be our house.

Today I might want to light a big fire in the middle of the living room, but the results will not be as I want.

I wouldn't want to burn the house down.

That is why I light the fire inside the stove.

If I think that this is my private life and you cannot interfere, society intervenes immediately to the extent of the harm I will cause.

If you have a thought like "you cannot interfere in my private life," forget it; life takes away all your privileges for the benefit of others in every way.

This is a natural law.

If my desires and the interests of society do not look in the same direction, I will pay the price for this sooner or later.

This applies to all of us.

A Memory Experiment In The Streets Of Paris

Anyway, I was saying memory palace.

I first tried the thing I call a memory palace on a Paris walking video.

The English sentence I wanted to memorize was as follows: “If you are an American, Chinese, or a European diplomat you may have thought about this a lot.”

I took this sentence and placed it into the scene shot by the camera of a man touring the city of Paris by creating strange daydreams; the scene was like this:

A waiter is serving two female friends sitting on wicker bistro chairs.

Two women, one wearing a camel and the other a black coat, are walking on the road; there is a red car across the road and a few men are chatting behind this car.

When the person filming moves forward a little, a boy of about eleven or thirteen years old is seen speaking enthusiastically in front of a café; he is explaining something by raising his hand in the air.

Just at this moment, a man in a black blouse comes out of the café and starts walking along the road.

A man on a bicycle passes by him.

The shop on the corner has a large sign.

I placed this sentence into the scene word for word:

I pasted the word “if” onto the waiter; I thought that the girl in the white blouse sitting at the bistro table pointed at me saying “you.”

Her friend sitting next to this girl had extended her foot onto the wicker chair; I made a sound resemblance between the word "arı" (bee) in Turkish and the word “are” and imagined that bees were coming out from under this wicker chair.

The “If you are…” part was completed.

I will not write all of it here; I connected the rest of it as well to the objects in the Paris video I listed above, sentence by sentence.

Okay, but memorizing one sentence took me half an hour when I included imagining these dreams and the writing times in my notebook.

The time cost of memorizing sentences and building a memory palace with this method was very high for me.

Moreover, this work stood in a separate place from my ideal of guaranteeing the three basic needs.

Search For A Method And The Pain Of Production

This must be a way of life so that it can be sustainable.

Learning English is like that, and using it is like that too.

If I am not going to be able to speak or write in that language, there is no meaning in memorizing English sentences either.

I felt distress for months.

Because not being able to determine a method is the biggest problem of multi-faceted people like me.

They can never start work because of thinking "should I do it like this, or should I do it like that."

But once they determine a purpose and start doing everything else for that purpose, no one can stop them either.

Now, while writing these, the idea of turning all this content into a YouTube video came to my mind.

It is like a sort of vlog, but I hate editing.

Especially editing long videos is pure torture.

But if I spread it over time, I think this will become easier too.

Furthermore, when I remember my purpose, even mountains that seem insurmountable turn into small pebbles.

Combination Of Art And Learning

Also, writing the thoughts that come to my mind while editing and sharing them on my website is like killing two birds with one stone.

I am writing these at 07:22 in the morning, and I decided to apply my memory palace model, which will spontaneously turn into content and does not stand in a separate place from my work, which has been specific to me since 04:00 in the morning.

I will use my own illustrations for this job.

I had already made it my business to redraw and paint existing works of art in my own style to emphasize the three basic needs.

A process of memorizing English sentences has now been added to this.

Authenticity Against Social Media Algorithms

At first, I was very divided because I felt like I needed to classify my works.

But I threw this judgment off myself.

Algorithms work on classifying our subject.

When the style of the cover image changes in a YouTube Shorts video, viewing rates drop and so on.

It is different on Instagram.

But I had become unable to do my own work because of worrying about these.

From now on, I will continue to keep my diaries and to memorize, draw, paint, sew, and explain in my own style for the sake of guaranteeing the three basic needs.

I do many different things throughout the day.

According to social media, I need to focus on a single thing and show it constantly.

Guaranteeing the three basic needs might look like a single purpose, it looks as if it can be categorized, but it is not so.

As simple as this purpose is, it is like building a temple where every brick is cast into molds by hand and baked in ovens.

When showing how these bricks are laid one by one, it might look as if it has no relation to the three basic needs.

I expect social media platforms to go for an algorithm change that pays attention to this issue as soon as possible.
